  • Do I need to be registered as a dental assistant in the State of Tennessee to take this course?

    Yes, you must be registered and have a valid registration number that begins with DA. If you take this course without a valid number, the course will not be accepted by the Board of Dentistry!

  • How is the course organized?

    The course has a didactic portion and a clinical portion. The didactic material will be completed online prior to the meeting for the in-person clinical portion.

  • Do I need to contact the Board of Dentistry?

    YES! The form you must send to the Board is available after you complete the final exam.

  • What type of computer equipment will I need?

    Any computer with an internet connection will be adequate for this course, but a high speed internet connection for your computer is highly desirable.

  • How much does the course cost?

    The fee for the course is $250.

  • How do I pay for the course?

    Payment is easy. After you enroll, payment is made using Paypal, a safe and reliable online payment program. You do not need a Paypal account to use your own credit or debit card. However, if you create a Paypal account, you have six months to pay for the course with no interest.

  • What is your refund policy?

    If you wish to cancel a course within 30 days of registering for it, and you have not completed any practice tests, you will receive a full refund. If you start the course by taking practice tests and do not wish to continue, you will receive a 50% refund. If the course involves a hands on clinical portion, you must cancel 14 days before the clinical date to receive a refund.

  • What materials do I need to bring to the clinical portion of the course?

    You will need to bring clinical attire, a standard four hole handpiece, fine prophy paste, two autoclaved mirrors, and two autoclaved explorers.

  • Do I need to bring a patient to the clinical portion?

    Not usually. We will be practicing on each other. However, if you have a condition that prevents you from receiving a standard prophylaxis including gross decay, multiple missing teeth, numerous porcelain restorations, or poor oral hygiene, contact your instructor for guidance.

  • Where will the clinical portion be held?

    The clinical portion is held at different locations across the state. Go to the top of the page to see the location of this specific course.

  • Do I need to purchase a textbook?

    No textbook is required.
